Encuentro: "The Encounter" in Spanish This is the story of Candice and Antoine. The adventure begins in 2008. Candice lives in the Dominican Republic for a year, discovering this beautiful country and its treasures...especially the cocoa! In 2012, they create their first chocolate factory in Punta Cana in direct relation with local cooperatives. The chocolate factory employs up to 15 people and is a real success. One year later, however, they are forced to abandon the project under threat and return to France. But the idea of creating their factory "bean to bar" in France will never leave them. It is in October 2016 that the adventure really starts, the Encuentro factory opens in Montreuil at the gates of Paris. The first shelves can finally be tasted! The choice is made not to open a store in order to put all the energy into the manufacture and quality of the chocolate. Encuentro is one of the few chocolate makers in France to make its own chocolate using a traditional "bean to bar" process. From the beans received to the bar, 7 steps are necessary to give the chocolate its unctuousness and its unique aromas. And moreover, the manufacturing process is certified organic!
